Stripes' story

I was asked to check in with one of the feral cats who lives in the burns. Her name is Stripes. My friend goes to the open burns field to feed many feral cats there. She said she has not seen Stripes for 3 weeks, which is unusual for her not to show up at feeding time. When I checked in with her, she told me that other cats and dogs there are not nice to her, and she needed to move to find a safe place to live.

I asked her if she could show me where she is so that my friend can go there to bring food for her once a week. She was a bit hesitant at first, as she did not want other cats, especially dogs, to find out where she is now. She said she sees other cats, but they are nice and not as crowded as the other place she used to stay. She told me she is in a building still close to the area she was in.

She showed me how she saw the big building in front of the burn where she used to live. She turned to the left from there and passed three burns, then she stopped. She said she lives here now. She said she sees more cows in the building. She said she does not see people as much, but they come once to feed the cows. I told her that my friend will go to look for her, so make sure she will come out when she hears her voice. She agreed.

Then a few days later, I got a call from her. She said she found Stripes. She came out from the building exactly where Stripes showed me! She was very excited to greet my friend and went back to her new house again.
