Ms. Toad's story

Ms. Toad was hiding under the front porch when I found her. Concerned, I asked if she needed assistance getting out, but she declined, explaining she was taking a rest due to the extreme daytime heat. I informed her that if she couldn't move later, I would have to relocate her for her safety, as the porch area wasn't secure.

Later that evening, I noticed she had moved to the backyard. When I checked on her, she expressed a preference to stay there because of the abundant water access. I explained that our dogs frequented the backyard, making it unsafe for her. After a moment of contemplation, she agreed to let me relocate her.

I carefully carried her to a spot I thought would be safe. However, once I set her down, she immediately returned to my hand, clearly unsatisfied with the new location. Realizing she needed a more suitable environment, we drove to a nearby area where I could hear other toads singing.

As soon as we arrived, Ms. Toad jumped off my hands with a sense of excitement. "Okay, I like it here better! Thanks!" she said, hopping away to join her fellow toads.
