Andre's story

Andre is a semi-feral cat who lives with his other siblings in a cat house which was build by a client. The client contacted me to communicate with Andre because he had not come back to his cat house.

Although he would not let the client handle him much, he would come to the house every night to eat dinner and sleep in the cat house.

When I communicated with Andre. He told me he is not feeling well. He showed me that he is sleeping/hiding under a building. I was on the phone with the client while I was communicating with him.

The client told me that she had an idea where he could be hiding as my description of the place where he showed me was very similar to one of the storage buildings on her property.

The client wanted me to explain to Andre why she wanted him to come back to the cat house tonight, and how she can help him to feel better. I told him about her concern.

He showed me his body. He showed me how he was dragging his hind ends and he was very wobbly. I felt heaviness in his rectal area and it felt like a small cut inside. I also felt warm and felt irritation which I would normally feel with animals who are suffering from inflammation or infection.

He told me that he felt very vulnerable right now and did not wish to come out. I wrapped him with my pink safe bubble and told him how mom is going to help him in the way he would be comfortable with. He told me to tell mom that he would be back in few hours. I told the client what he has shared and to wait for few hours. Meanwhile, I suggested owner to contact the primary veterinarian to see if the vet can prescribe antibiotics based on an examination.

Next day, I had a call from the client, she told me how Andre came back in later that night, and he was very wobbly and she saw a drop of blood coming from his back end. Owner was able to get in touch with the primary veterinarian and was able to receive an antibiotic therapy. Now Andre is starting to feel better and back to normal.
